The Breckenridge MunicipalMagistrateis responsible for the verdict of Class C misdemeanor violations of local, state and federal laws punishable by fine only; other sanctions may be included for unrepealable offenses.  The magistrate conducts preliminary and pretrial hearings and trials, collects fines and magistrate financing and issues warrants of trespassing and search. All cases are heard at 120 West Elm Street in the MunicipalMagistratebuilding.  The law requires that you make an visitation either in person or by mail. If you were issued a citation, you must towards on or surpassing your visitation stage to enter a plea, pay your fine and magistrate financing or set a magistrate date.  Failure to do so may result in a warrant stuff issued for your arrest. Payment is expected at time of assessment.   Driver SafetyUndertow(DSC) (NOT for Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders You may be worldly-wise to request that a tuition be dismissed by taking a Driving Safety Course.  However, you will lose that right if you do not provide written notice to the magistrate of your desire to do so, on or surpassing your visitation date.  A written notice is a notarized testimony of eligibility or sworn request. DO NOT TAKE THE COURSE UNTIL YOU HAVE OBTAINED PERMISSION FROM THE COURT. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR DSC ARE AS FOLLOWS: You must enter a written plea of guilty or no races You must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License You must possess Texas Liability Insurance valid the day of your request You must pay the StateMagistrateCosts and legalistic fee of $100.00 or $125.00 if violation occurred in a school zone You cannot be charged with speeding in glut of 24 miles per hour whilom speed limit You cannot be currently taking the undertow for flipside quotation Your driving record cannot reflect completion of a DSC within the twelve months preceding the stage of the so-called offense YOU CAN REQUEST YOUR TEXAS DRIVING RECORD ONLINE HERE. Expired Driver’s License Expired Motor Vehicle Registration Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection (Expired for less than 60 days) You may request that the ticket be dismissed if the violation is corrected on or surpassing your visitation date.  To request a dismissal, you must enter a written plea of Guilty or No Contest, provide the magistrate with receipt for each renewal, and pay the required $20.00 fee for each corrected violation.  Violations not corrected on or surpassing your visitation stage and presented to the magistrate as stated at the marrow left hand corner of the quotation will not be wonted for dismissal.  The dismissal fee is $20.00. Insurance Affidavit  (READ CAREFULLY) A second or subsequent conviction of an offense under the Texas Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Act will result in the suspension of your driver’s license and motor vehicle registration; unless you file and maintain proof of financial responsibility with the Department of Public Safety for two years from the stage of conviction.  The Department of Public Safety may waive the requirement to file proof of financial responsibility, if you file satisfactory vestige with the Department showing that at the time the quotation was issued, the vehicle was covered by a liability insurance policy or that you were exempt from the requirement to provide financial responsibility.   FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT CAN RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CHARGES, FINES AND A WARRANT FOR YOUR ARREST.
